ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Rachel Barb joined Mount Carmel in November 2002 as an HR Assistant at Mount Carmel West. She then transitioned into an HR Coordinator role supporting various recruitment initiatives along with HR operational functions. She transitioned to a Talent Acquisition Specialist in 2005, and later to a Senior Specialist and has recruited for all levels within the organization, most recently focusing on Nursing. In her current role as Manager, Talent Acquisition Operations, Rachel provides functional project management, team leadership, vendor management, and recruiter training. Rachel also teaches Behavioral Interviewing to new leaders. She holds a certificate in recruitment and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Cortland College.

Mary Francis McLaughlin is an expert in organizational design and development, talent management, leader development and performance improvement. For the last 10 months she served as the Interim Director of Talent Management at Mount Carmel Health System and recently transitioned into a Sr. Organization Design & Development Consultant role with Trinity Health where she acts as a strategic partner providing coaching and consultation for Ohio.

During a career that has spanned more than 25 years, she has provided expertise improving the performance of individuals, teams and organizations and implemented enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple sectors and industries. In addition to Mt. Carmel, some of her previous employers have included Columbus State Community College, Ohio Department of Jobs & Family Services, WV Governor’s Cabinet for Children and Families, WV Division of Personnel, Butler Memorial Hospital (PA), and Carnegie Mellon University. During the first ten years of her career Mary Francis had the privilege of working for a variety of community nonprofit organizations providing leadership in volunteer management, training, and communications. Additionally, she ran her own consulting business serving non-profits and businesses across the state of West Virginia
